Devotini Aortic Sim
In 2013 Roger Devotini and Abdullrazak Hossien were given the J&J ETHICON & EACTS award for their simulators of aortic valve surgery techniques.
Serial version of the Devotini Aortic Sim originates from the project designed by Roger Devotini who came up with production procedure to create a very realistic aortic and aortic valve environment.
Thanks to his idea and invention we can produce copies very similar to the human aorta. Development lasted a bit longer this time because, for the first time since we started to produce simulators, we were not only looking for similar materials and substitutes but, in cooperation with prof. Turina and Roger, we were trying to produce as accurate copy of the aorta as possible in terms of shape as well as the properties of material. Development and testing lasted almost a year. First “testing” Devotini Aortic Sim was introduced in October 2014 at the EACTS congress in Milan and based on experiences we were searching further for an ideal version for serial production.
